Geothermal Provides Excellent IAQ at Bottleworks

The Bottleworks Loft Condominiums building in Cedar Rapids, IA, is a five-story historic building that was remodeled and upgraded for the OSADA Metro Area Housing Program in 1996.

Listen to Editorial Director Gary Parr discuss the renovation at the Bottleworks Loft Condominiums with Jay Egg, president and founder of Egg Geothermal.

That project included installation of a geothermal heat pump system designed to provide 228 ton of heat pump capacity through 94 geothermal heat pumps (GHPs). A second renovation, undertaken in 2007, to upgrade the living spaces to today’s loft condominiums, was completed in 2013. The images below provide a look at the living spaces and the mechanical systems that produce excellent indoor air quality for the residents.
